I order a lot of stuff online. I try to shop local first, then small Canadian, then large Canadian, then I just lie down on the floor and accept that capitalism owns us all.

But when I’m able to shop from lovely Canadian companies like Well and Nail Polish Canada, I’m happy knowing that I’m supporting Canadian companies.

To add that little bit of extra excitement when opening each gift to myself, each of these companies includes a little handwritten note in the order (nail polish Canada also throws in a sucker!!)

If every order is packed by hand, and you need to check it before it is shipped anyways, isn’t it the most wonderful thing to take an extra second and sign off to your customers?

It’s a little thing, but it’s utterly delightful.
