This sixteen pan palette is one of nine in BH Cosmetics’ travel series. So far, my favourite colour story is Trendy in Tokyo, but I really have loved playing with Lost in Los Angeles.
Look 1: Pastel Sunset
Shades used: 90210, The 405, LAX, Abbot Kinney
The mattes in this palette perform really wonderfully! I really like how these pastel shades can all be together without blending into an undefined mess.
Look 2: Purple and Gold
Shades Used: Starstruck, Abbot Kinney, Melrose
This was such an easy look to put together – and the shades all performed really well!
Look 3: Attempt at a Halo eye
Shades Used: City of Angels, Rush Hour, Malibu
I run into my first issue with the palette – the shade rush hour gave me a fair amount of fallout. It still looked nice at the end, but it was a bit of a slog to get there!
Look 4: Respectable and Neutral
Shades used: Runyon Canyon, Rodeo Drive, Starstruck, Weho
I wanted to create a neutral look with this palette just to see if I could – this was the best that I could do. With Runyon Canyon and Rodeo Drive being a mid tone shade instead a deep shade, there isn’t a lot of room to play in the dark end of the spectrum. As above, rodeo drive did give me a bit of issue with fallout but it was ok in the end.
To Summarize: the mattes in this palette perform wonderfully! With the exception of rush hour, city of angels, and rodeo drive, I have not run into any issues with this palette.
If you’re looking for a light palette with lots of room to play in light and bright shades, I really think this is a good fit!
